Posted on 3. February 2017 in Out & about by Dijana Šabić.
Each Friday, we make a list of 5 things you should eat/try/do/see/etc. while you’re on Brač. This time, we’re bringing you 5 things to do while you’re in Selca.
#1 Count the monuments around Selca.
Selca is the place with the most monuments per capita, so take your time and find them.
#2 Say a prayer for all the sailors!
Saint Nicolas is a sailors’ patron saint and near Selca there is a small old church of St. Mikula, so visit it and remember all those at the sea.
#3 Find buhavica. And get rich!
Buhavica is a sort of olive, you can find it near Novo Selo, and the olive oil made of buhavica is quite pricey but it is worth every penny.
#4 See if there’s any truth in the legend of German shipwrecks in Luke bay.
A legend says that there was a German shipwreck near Luke bay so go diving and find the treasure.
#5 Befriend a local and ask to take you to Spilice.
Spilice are a beautiful isolated beach but you will probably need a boat to get there.
