Sutivan
Sutivan is special for a couple of reasons, but one we like in particular – it is the best bike friendly destination on the rise in this part of Dalmatia! It is truly an adventurous place, even though it’s a home for less than 900 people! Summers are full of events and adventures, and winters are getting warmer with all the fairs and bike rides. 🙂
Sutivan is located just a few kilometers from Supetar, to the west. It is also the closest municipality to the coast of Split, so it used to have its own ferry line. Sutivan prides on the rich cultural history and background. It was home to a baroque poet Kavanjin who wrote the longest poem in Croatian history! His vacation house is still a very admirable mansion. Today, it’s awaiting repairs to be put in cultural uses once again.
Culture still plays an important role in the development of this place, but adventure kinda took over the main wheel. With the amazing festival of extreme sports Vanka Regule and it’s development as a bike-friendly destination, Sutivan truly became the most adventurous place on Brač! Even the former mayor of London and now a prime minister agrees!
