10 years of Hrapoćuša association

Join the celebration that will bring together the entire Dol  and all that love this little village, as the Hrapoćuša Association celebrates its 10th anniversary on December 8th.

The small picturesque village of Dol, situated in the interior of the island of Brač, on the edge of the vineyards perched on vineyards, olive groves and citrus fields, is known for its rich heritage: church church singing of centuries-old coral melodies, picturesque caves and legends of mythical creatures, processions for Veli Petak that strim the streets connects hills above the village, preserved stone huts and noble house Gospodnetić, gastronomy.

Through all these years, the Association has become the bearer of cultural and sports life, the promoter of Doli and Brač heritage, all thanks to the enthusiasts and volunteers of the association, but also the example of good cooperation, primarily with the Postira Municipality Tourist Board, County, Postira Municipality and many good people .

Joint forces built a large playground in the village, as well as a small playground and a public toilet on which more than five hours of volunteer work were spent. About four hundred hours of volunteering were devoted to residents of Dola to arrange the source on the oysters, a kind of monument to a lifeless life on the ‘waterless island’. They also renewed the ‘bale’ salon where dances were once held, and exhibitions and workshops were organized in a newly restored space. The association also participated in numerous manifestations outside the island, and they had twirling with Dol of Hvar, with which, apart from the name, they also relate to the love of gastronomic delicacies – speak. Young people in the Association also organize dance on the occasion of the Doli camp, and at the end of each summer and the mini-tournament.

The story of this association will continue with the House of Hrapoćša project being under construction. Apart from the possibility of preparing and tasting the pie, in special part will be exhibited valuable copies of old church books and other important items from the rich history of the village.

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!

Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.

BY SEA ///

There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.

First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.

Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!

BY AIR ///

Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website.
