20 years of klapa friendship between Bol and Omis
The evening of klapas debutants in Bol on the island of Brač has a truly special meaning for the Omis Festival and Bol. The long-standing harmonious relationship between the Festival of Dalmatian Klapas and Bol on Brač, the tourist pearl of Lijepa naša, which has always been an attractive first step for new klapas in the fight to perform at the Omis Square, marks its anniversary this year with a celebratory concert without debut klapas. This Saturday, July 4, 2020, in the Bol Theater Two lanterns starting at 9 p.m.In a particularly uncertain summer this year, with constant changes and security measures, Omis and Bol decided to celebrate 20 years of cooperation and, although more modestly and without many guests and guests that were planned, pay tribute to the klapa friendship of Bol and Omis with a concert and socializing. The concert will feature the men’s klapa Pinguentum from Buzet and the women’s klapa Orca from Split as representatives of former Bol debutants with great success in Omis later. Of the local klapas, there is Bol’s pride – klapa Veras composed of young people from Bol, which was a guest in Omis, and the award-winning and widely known Bol klapa Braciera, which was the winner of the audience at the first Bol Debut Evening, and later won numerous Omiš awards and truly became the most famous Brač klapa product. The revival concert of the klapa will be led this year by the dear and unavoidable conductor Edita Lučić Jelić, and in the lobby of the Theater there will be an exhibition of photographs with a small selection of all 20 years of klapa evenings in Bol prepared by Omis photographer Vlade Zemunik, this year’s winner .Let us recall the beginnings of 2001, when on the initiative of the then artistic director of the festival Dr. Miljenko Grgić and Jadranka Nejašmić, director of the Municipal Library Hrvatska čitaonica and then head of Bolski lit, the relocation of debut evenings from Omis to Bol was initiated. It is a fortunate circumstance that the realization of this project was strongly supported by the local authorities of Omis and Bol, as well as the Festival Council. For years, the Omis-Bol klapa evenings traditionally mark the beginning of the Bol Summer event, and thus the summer cultural season in Bol. This year everything is a little different and later, but not without culture and song and Omis in Bol.Welcome!

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!
Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.
BY SEA ///
There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.
First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.
Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!
BY AIR ///
Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač Deluxe, Rent a Motorino or M&B rent. Check them out!
Once you’re on the island, rent a car, use taxis or local transportation. For online booking with discount, click here.
All the emergency numbers you might need but we hope you won’t!
