Beginning of works on the tunnel near Ložišća
After 14 years, tomorrow, April 25, 2019. the historic moment for the municipality of Milna will happen – opening works on the construction of the bypass site of Ložišće (beginning of works on the tunnel).
Namely, in 2005, the County Road Administration and the Municipality of Milna started to realize this capital project, which is of particular importance to our Municipality, especially for residents of Ložišća, but also for our entire island of Brač.
We are witnessing traffic jams through only the village of Ložišća during the tourist season, and more often and out of season. It was necessary to invest all the efforts of all of us and the municipalities of Milna and Splitsko-dalmatinska County and the state institutions to make this project happen, as well as a significant increase in tourism in our municipality, more than 25% only in the last year.
The project is worth HRK 41 million and is currently the largest investment on our island.
Through this way, the Municipality of Milna is grateful to all the participants in this project who contributed to it tomorrow, April 25, 2019. Finally, we opened the construction site, all the institutions of our country, geodesists, designers, and especially the Croatian Road Administration, which have taken over this project in further financing of design and construction in 2010.
The planned opening of the construction site will be tomorrow, April 25, starting at 10.30 on the location of the Vijay wave on the state road D114.
We especially thank Mr. Oleg Butković of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and Mr. Minister Lovri Kuščević who will, with his arrival, enlarge this historic moment for our Municipality.
Also, we invite all citizens of our municipality and citizens of the island of Brač to make this event even greater by their presence.
After opening the construction site of the Ložišća by-pass, Minister Butković and Kuščević together with the representatives of the Municipality of Milna will visit the locations of two further infrastructure projects in our municipality – the future Milna road (Milestone) – Lučica – Smrka which by the decision of the Government of Croatia of state importance and the location of the reconstruction project and the expansion of the Racić coast in the port of Milna, whose start of construction is planned after the end of the tourist season.

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!
Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.
BY SEA ///
There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.
First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.
Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!
BY AIR ///
Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač Deluxe, Rent a Motorino or M&B rent.
