EDUCATION | Tourism and Hospitality Education Against Social Exclusion

“Take part! Education in Tourism and Hospitality Against Social Exclusion” is implemented within the framework of the European Social Fund (ESF), the Operational Program for Human Resources (HRM). In Supetar, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, starting at 10:30, with refreshments on the terrace of Hotel Osam, Vlačica 3.

Within the “Take part!” Project, we design inclusive education from the field of hospitality and tourism that will be tailored to elderly people and people with disabilities. The education will be completely free for all participants, term and program tailored to their capabilities, as well as the fact that participants will be from different places on the coast (paid transport, intensive work through one or two days a week, online mentoring … ). It will be withdrawn from February to May 2019.

Everyone who decides to include in this education will gain not only the knowledge required to work in tourism and hospitality jobs, but also direct contact with top mentors and practice with quality employers.

Also, each of the education we will offer is a basis for self-employment or the creation of additional income for people who are not interested or have no employment opportunities with the employer. In this sense, each program will include a business segment as well as the ability to create contacts for the future.

We have already done a series of preliminary meetings with representatives of employers, local self-governments and representatives of civil society, in order to hear their thinking and needs and to plan their plans. This week we will be in Supetar on Brac and Starigrad on Hvar. In any of the groups you are interested in, there are employers looking for educated staff, older than 53 or you are a disabled person, join us. Do not block any limitations that make years and disabilities. Tourism and catering are not just waiters and chefs, there is a whole range of jobs that need great.

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!

Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.

BY SEA ///

There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.

First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.

Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!

BY AIR ///

Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač DeluxeRent a Motorino or M&B rent. Check them out!

Once you’re on the island, rent a car, use taxis or local transportation. For online booking with discount, click here.

All the emergency numbers you might need but we hope you won’t!
