Hook & cook presentation | From the Rod to Your Plate

FOR F-LAG is hosting an “Example of Good Practice”: HOOK & COOK – “Through the Rod to Your Plate”. This year at the Sustainable Development Festival FOR F • LAG BRAČ 2019, we are honored to host the Hook & Cook collective coming from Istria.

The Hook and Cook concept represents the perfect combination of fishing, gastronomic creativity and excellent music, transformed into a one-day food festival or a street food festival that changes the concept of a classic fishing party.

Behind the whole story are Siniša Pavlović and Marko Domgjoni, longtime friends and ambitious young people who have decided to join forces to make “something new and unusual”, doing what they like. Siniša, who comes from a fishing family, is Captain Levan and owner of Tunan, a fishing boat for big fish, and takes care of the catch that is being prepared at festivals. Marko is a graduate geologist and fan of design and music, all rounding up to a meaningful whole.

The members of this small collective take what they give them, and they create gastronomic spells to give the hungry audience the best and most valuable – a quality homemade product, an excellent taste and a unique experience, packed in an interesting story.

Hook & Cook’s goal is to preserve and maintain natural resources that greatly affect our daily life and our eating habits. The point is to cultivate a sustainable approach to quality, freshness, simplicity and ethics when preparing food to extract all the old traditional and new original flavors and scents in our dishes. In this way we enjoy the trust of the wider community and we can compete with cheap and fast food producers and producers. | see the video

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!

Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.

BY SEA ///

There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.

First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.

Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!

BY AIR ///

Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač DeluxeRent a Motorino or M&B rent. Check them out!

Once you’re on the island, rent a car, use taxis or local transportation. For online booking with discount, click here.

All the emergency numbers you might need but we hope you won’t!
