I'm giving you a gift, don't look for the flaws

For seven years in a row, in Bol, there is a small action going on, called “I’m giving you a gift, don’t look for the flaws”.

We all know about this volunteer, free and we believe a useful initiative of collecting and re-giving toys, things, presents and items and usually takes place from St. Nicholas until after St. Lucy, December 13th. in the Centre of Culture in Bol.

All that a child needs to do (or a mom) is to choose one or more smaller, used but preserved toys or items from their collection and bring it to the Centre of Culture until the celebration of St. Lucia’s Day. Any purchases or decorative bags are prohibited. The goal is to cheer someone up with something used but still very well preserved, not to spend and buy.

We would also like to give gifts to the classmates from the 5th to the 8th grade who do not receive gifts from St. Nicholas, so we ask you to donate objects like the gloves, hair accessories, colorful rings, bags or earrings.

On St. Lucia’s day, December 13th, every child can simply choose one thing from our accumulated stacks. This year, things go to the House of Culture, but all the toys are brought to the children’s tent after Christmas.

All the toys will be used to play in the tent, and will remain for our children for a next event, play, birthday celebration in the Centre of Culture, prize draw or the like. We always forward this to the needy further.

You can bring toys to the Centre of Culture every working day in the afternoon or simply leave it in front of the gallery. The first exchange and gift will be on the Christmas Market tent.

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!

Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.

BY SEA ///

There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.

First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.

Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!

BY AIR ///

Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač DeluxeRent a Motorino or M&B rent. Check them out!

Once you’re on the island, rent a car, use taxis or local transportation. For online booking with discount, click here.

All the emergency numbers you might need but we hope you won’t!
