Is there such a thing as an ideal mother?
Olivera Drutter will hold a lecture called “Is there such a thing as an ideal mother?” on Thursday, 07.02. at 18 o’clock, in Supetar’s library.
To be a mother, for many, is to be an educator with unlimited hours of work and often referred to as “the toughest job”. And yet, on the other hand, is the blessing, joy, happiness, and often the greatest fulfillment of a large number of women. My conclusion is that everything in life is actually the biggest challenge. If we give sincerity to motherhood, bold and yet soft, we come to feelings – WHERE IS IT.
Now, I have to tell you that there is no “ideal mother”, and I can guarantee you because I am the mother of two children myself. There is a wonderful term in psychology, which has so relieved me, awakened and empowered, and is called “Just a Good Mother”. And I can tell you that to become a good mother, you need the maturity, the capacity for self-respect, patience, determination, but above all the prudence, love, presence and the ability to forgive yourself. It is necessary to recognize and acknowledge that we are wrong and know how to correct the mistakes. Because a “good enough mother” is doing it, corrects mistakes and forgives you. Ultimately, we have to accept that our children also teach and educate us as much as we do, and I will also talk about this in the lecture.
When we become mothers, we discover how much we have the patience, strength and ability to be present and recognize the needs of children. You who have been born, remember how you felt when your baby cried and you did not know what it was to him. Suddenly the ability to express yourself becomes a dream and a wish “when he will learn to tell what he is”. And when they talk and ask a thousand questions “And why Mom …”, you want to escape and hide yourself. Much is what can bring us frustration and a sense of powerlessness. At the lecture I will not be able to discover the perfect recipe for motherhood. I will talk about the basic requirements and the needs that all the children encounter when they are born and what they need from us to be able to respond to these demands. Ultimately, all mothers have the desire to have children / adults with a healthy relationship with themselves and with the world. I invite all mothers, as well as those who plan to become, to join the lecture. With your arrival you also support your inner wounded child to be able to enjoy even more motherhood.
During my lecture, I will present the CIR Center for Integrative Development, which has existed for 15 years in Zagreb and Split. The school is intended for personal development and education of Physically Oriented Psychotherapists, as the only recognized by EABP. At the workshops I will hold after my lecture, I will discuss the topic of lectures with a lot of experiential, interactive exercises and to recognize my patterns of behavior and beliefs that make our relationship with children more difficult.

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!
Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.
BY SEA ///
There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.
First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.
Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!
BY AIR ///
Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač Deluxe, Rent a Motorino or M&B rent.
