Jazz, latin and blues in Bol

Bol has been hosting Bol’s Summer Music Workshops for a week now, which began as part of the International Summer Music School in Pucisca. The International Summer School of Pucisca is being held in Brac for the 24th time this year, and part of the program, a workshop of popular and jazz music, Latin and blues, has been held in Bol for the last nineteen years. The lecturers at the workshops are top music experts and virtuosos of jazz performances: saxophonists are mentored by Sasa Nestorovic, and the work in the ensemble is moderated and conducted by guitarist Mario Igrec and founder of the International Summer Music School Juraj Vrandečić.

The International Summer School in Pucisca has a great tradition and educational, cultural and tourist significance. Over the past two decades, more than 4,000 students have passed through the school, many of whom are distinguished musicians today who have achieved great success.

For the end of the workshops in Bol, which lasts from 23 to 30 August, the presenters and participants together play the final concert, which is a real treat for fans of jazz and fusion music.

The joint jazz concert of the workshop participants will be Thursday, August 29, in front of the Parish Church at 9 pm.

The final jazz concert, as well as the entire workshop, is part of the Bol’s Lit program and was implemented in collaboration with the Bol Cultural Center. Jazz musicians will also perform on Wednesday, August 28, at Bol’s Summer Night as part of the program, with leading entertainers.

The program of the International Music School Pučišća is highly sponsored by Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. The project has also been supported for many years by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, Arriva, the Croatian National Tourist Board, HUZIP, ZAPRAF, the Split-Dalmatia County and the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board.

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!

Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.

BY SEA ///

There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.

First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.

Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!

BY AIR ///

Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač DeluxeRent a Motorino or M&B rent. Check them out!

Once you’re on the island, rent a car, use taxis or local transportation. For online booking with discount, click here.
