Spiritual & recreational camp for young people

The program is conceived as a spiritual recreational camp for young people. The camp site is the remains of the ancient priestly desert. The space itself imposes a camp program. The working part refers to reconstruction of the drywall, cleaning and landscaping, and the contribution to ensuring the necessary living conditions in the camp.

Spiritual work focuses on revealing the depths of one’s own heart, interpersonal relationships, and relationship with God. Relatively scarce and demanding conditions of life in this “desert” are aimed at fostering a clearer distinction between our wishes and our deep needs.

Educational dimensions are achieved through learning to live in poor conditions of the Brač karst and getting acquainted with the history of desertion on Central Dalmatian islands dating back to the first century of Christianity.

Recreational aspect refers to the time spent in the wonderful ambience and the enchanting beaches of the southern slopes of the island of Brač.

CAMP LOCATION | The camp is located in Dračeva harbor harbor near Murvica on the island of Brač. Murvica is 5 km away from the famous tourist destination Bol (Zlatni rat beach).

NOTES / ADVICE | The topic of the camp is defined by the area where the priesthood Dračeva port is located. These are the remains of desert huts (walls), which are located at some 300 m above sea level. From the main road to the Desert leads a relatively steep goat’s path (easy walk 10 min). Whoever intends to be a participant in a camp should take into account the requirement of a geographical position, ie it should be physically ready to go down and ascend several times a day.

Due to the character of the camp and the program, access is not possible to those who: have a special diet | suffer from epilepsy, diabetes, celiac disease, Chron disease, have (or have recently had) mononucleosis | are allergic to insect bites and dust | are prone to maleness, sunburn

ARRIVAL TO THE CAMP | All the terms start with the program on Monday afternoon, so it is necessary to arrive on the island of BraČ by 2 pm. Here you can get all the information about the ways of reaching Brač. The camp program ends with lunch on Sunday. On Sunday departure is possible via Supetar Split. I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!

Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.

BY SEA ///

There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.

First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.

Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!

BY AIR ///

Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač DeluxeRent a Motorino or M&B rent. Check them out!

Once you’re on the island, rent a car, use taxis or local transportation. For online booking with discount, click here.

All the emergency numbers you might need but we hope you won’t!
