Time flow & Development of the scientific thought

Supetar, 22 August at 9 pm, National Library in Supetar, Ivan Rendić Gallery, there will be a Lecture on “Time Flow” and “Development of Scientific Thinking”, by Daniel Denegri.

Prof. dr. sc. Daniel Denegri is a prominent Croatian physicist. Areas of his scientific interest and research are numerous, and the main area is physics of elemental particles. In 1979 he was involved in the CERN experiment of UA 1 initiated for the observation of the W and Z bosons so- weak forces, thus laying the foundations of the modern physics of data elemental particles.

During his stay in the United States and early years in Saclay, Professor Denegri studied the mechanisms of Kaon-nucleon reactions from Brookhaven, CERN and Serpuh’s data. He is also a member of the team that revealed the existence of W and Z particles in 1983, which has laid the foundations for the modern physics of datum particles. It should be noted that project managers Carlo Rubbia and Simon van der Meer for the following year shared the Nobel Prize for Physics. Contribution by prof. Denegria was the construction of a calorimetric particle detector and the introduction of a new procedure for separating rare events that interested them from a complex backdrop. He was a member of the team who discovered the top quark, one of the basic units of the Standard Model.

He is a member of several international expert committees and recently a correspondent member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Because of his outstanding scientific contribution, he was rewarded several times. He has authored over 170 scientific papers, an associate of numerous professional journals.

Lectures in Supetar have already become a tradition and every year they are attracted by the huge interest of visitors.

I really want to visit Brač! How do I do that?!

Brač is an island which can be reached by sea and air. Here are some basics.

BY SEA ///

There are two ferry lines connecting Brač with a land.

First is in Supetar, connecting Brač with Split, and the second is on Sumartin, connecting Brač with Makarska. There is a third port that can be reached by regular local boat lines, and that is Bol, on the south part of the island. Here, you can reach Brač from Split, or from a neighbouring island Hvar. More information about ferry lines and timetables you may find here.

Also, if you own or rent boats, you may just sail into any place on island Brač. We suggest Brač Deluxe for transfers!

BY AIR ///

Brač has its own small airport, situated in the middle of the island. More and more flights are introduced each year, and all the necessary information you may find on the airport’s website. If you need transportation from the airport to any other place on the island, may we suggest contacting some of the #bestofbrac service providers, such as Taxi Peša, Brač DeluxeRent a Motorino or M&B rent. Check them out!
