Brač Film Festival workshop | A call for participation
Brac Film Festival invites all interested young filmmakers, film students and enthusiasts to apply for the workshop that will be held from 9th to 13th of August in Supetar on the island of Brač! This year they have prepared a documentary film workshop with accompanying lectures.
During the four-day workshop, the participants will be introduced to the basics of documentary narrative, the legitimacy of documentary film production, the ways in which themes are dealt with, the creation of synopsis and screenplay for documentary film, the preparation and maintenance of interviews as well as the practical part of the film. During the workshop, participants will be accompanied by a mentor to record a short documentary about Brac Film Festival together with an overview of all events and interviews of leaders and guests. Participants will be divided into different roles (director, filmmaker, editor, director assistant, reporter, micromancer, etc.). The workshop will be run by producers from an award-winning production company that has offices in several world metropolises (including Zagreb). The closing film will show the last nights of the Festival in a crowded summer movie theater. In parallel with the workshop, a masterclass will be held on „How to fund your documentary“, led by prominent producer Niels Mann, who was in charge of RTL television program development, program director and production director at German and Croatian affiliates.
